Lisa McColm, Psychometrist (Calgary)

Lisa graduated from the University of Calgary in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree majoring in Psychology with a minor in English Literature.

She has been working in the field of psychology as a psychometrist for over seven years.  Starting with research assessments at the University of Calgary and moving to clinical and psychoeducational assessments with the Alberta Children's Hospital and Brooks Assessment, she has experience working with children and adults of all ages who have a wide range of abilities and needs. What she enjoys most about being a psychometrist is that every day is different. Every client brings unique circumstances that challenge her own skills as a psychometrist, and she enjoys finding ways to make the testing experience as successful and enjoyable as possible for each person she works with.

When not working, Lisa enjoys playing soccer with her son, cooking with her daughter, and listening to music with her husband. Her family loves to adventure and they spend much of their free time camping, traveling, and attending various types of events throughout the city.

Kalina Slepicka, Psychometrist (Calgary)

Kalina graduated from the University of Alberta in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology.

During her undergrad, she participated in a cooperative experience program at a brain injury facility, where she first discovered the role of a psychometrist. Throughout her placement, she was introduced to a range of assessments and it opened her eyes to the world of psychometry that she really enjoyed. She continued to explore this path and pursued it further after completing her degree. With 12 years of experience in psychometry, Kalina has worked as a Psychometrist at the Halvar Jonson Centre for Brain Injury in Ponoka, the Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary, and as a research coordinator on a longitudinal study at the University of Michigan. Throughout these experiences, she has worked with individuals ranging from 3 to 65 years with potential neurological and genetic disorders, brain injuries, or learning disabilities. She has always enjoyed working one-on-one with individuals, building relationships, and helping them feel at ease in what can often be an unfamiliar and uncomfortable environment. Throughout her career, Kalina has had the opportunity to work with a wide range of age groups and populations in diverse settings across both Alberta and the United States. She is skilled at adapting to each individual's unique needs, ensuring they get the most meaningful and effective experience.

Kalina has been baking since high school, experimenting with cupcakes, cakes, and pastries, so she enjoys working on her online cake business in her spare time.
